Selonda has always been the leader in Greece, as well as the Mediterranean, in fry production and sales.

The company started at the beginning of the 1990s with the construction of a small hatchery at Selonda bay, mainly for the coverage of its own needs. Selonda essentially achieved its leading position in the production of fry in 1994 by acquiring and adding to its capacity the large hatchery in Managouli and after 1998, when the third and most modern hatchery of the Group (Triton SA) began production.

Today, the Group owns 5 modern hatcheries with a total capacity of over 180 million fry.

Selonda's most significant accomplishment throughout these years is its consolidation of the fry market and reputation with customers as the most reliable company in the sector.

  • Gilthead seabream fry: distributed throughout the year at an average weight greater than 1.5 g (usually 2 to 3 g).

  • European seabass fry: distributed throughout the year at an average weight greater than 2g (usually 2 to 4 g).

  • Sharpsnout seabream or puntazzo fry: distributed from January to May at an average weight greater than 1.5 g (usually 2 to 3 g).

  • Red porgy fry: distributed from August to October at an average weight greater than 2 g.

  • Meagre fry: distributed from July to September at an average weight greater than 1.5 g

For its fry distribution network, Selonda has specially modified trucks with removable tanks used for transporting to production units all over Greece and abroad. Fry shipments are carried out at Selonda's responsibility and expense by fully specialized and well-trained personnel. Our company guarantees the quality and good health of the fry it distributes.
